Father Michael Beckett was raised in Hurricane, WV, the eldest son of devout and devoted parents. He was raised as a Baptist, and was confirmed as an Episcopalian in 1981. Since that time he has been active in the ministries of Choir, Christian Education, Confirmation Classes, Altar Guild, Sunday School, Youth Education, and Bible Study Classes. He has a BA in Elementary Education from Marshall University, and a Masters of Theology in Christian Education from Almeda University. He was ordained in 2011. Myke is currently a fully professed Dominican friar, the Father General of the Order of Preachers, Independent and the Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of St. Dominic, Old Catholic Apostolic Church US. He lives in Myrtle Beach, SC with his partner, Scott, their Sheltie, Ginger, their Standard Poodle, Zoey, and cat, Binx.
