All Saints Day is Approaching

For all the saints, who from their labors rest,
who thee by faith before the world confessed,
thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.
Alleluia, Alleluia!

As we begin to prepare for All Saints Day, that day when we remember all the saints, those we love who have gone to their reward, we at The Order of Preachers, Old Catholic, would like to remember your beloved friends and family who are no longer with us.  If you will respond to this posting by giving us a list of your dead, you may be assured that we will remember them in our Masses and in our prayers.  God bless you all.

A Blessed Election!

It is my great joy and pleasure to announce that the Rev. Prior Michael Ray Beckett has been elected to the Office of Bishop. Prior Beckett is a dear friend and Prior of the Order of Preachers, Old Catholic. He will serve as a Suffragan Bishop under Bishop William Quinlan and will oversee the Diocese of West Virginia.

A New Postulant!

The Dominican Order of the Old Catholic Apostolic Church of North America, The Order of Preachers, OC, is happy to announce the addition of a new Postulant!  Michael Scott Brown, of Belle, WV, has expressed his desire to join our Dominican family, and has taken the preliminary steps towards that goal.  Br. Scott is also studying to become a Deacon.  Join us in welcoming our newest Brother, and uphold him in your prayers as he continues his journey in Our Lord’s service.

A New Novice

The Dominican Order of The Old Catholic Church of North America, The Order of Preachers, OC, is delighted to announce Fr. Bryan Wolf’s advancement to the Novitiate.  Bryan has worked and studied diligently for the past year, and has completed his Postulancy.   Amazingly enough, he has been working on his Novitiate projects simultaneously with his Postulancy studies, and will be professing his Simple Vows in a few months!  Join us in congratulation Fr. Bryan in this major step, and do please continue to keep him in your prayers as he continues this journey.

A New Home

In recent weeks, the Order of Preachers, Reformed, has struggled through a time of great dismay and difficulty.  We know that without death there can be no resurrection.  And, just as the angel came down and troubled the waters at Bethsaida so that those surrounding the pool could be healed, so it is with us.  Throughout our troubles and distress, God has been leading us to where we need to be, and where we may serve Him best.  Under the guidance and loving hands of the Most Rev. Aaron Edmund Cass and The Right Rev. Gregory Godsey, the Order of Preachers, Reformed has become The Order of Preachers, Old Catholic, and we are now the Dominican Order of The Old Catholic Church of North America.

We  look forward to a new and stronger ministry in our new home, and we will, indeed, serve the Lord with gladness and singleness of heart.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

With Great Joy!!!!!!!!!!! A Profession and Two Ordinations…

The Order of Preachers, Reformed joyously announces the First Profession of Sister Dollie Wilkinson, OPr on Saturday, 14 July 2012.  Please continue to pray for Sister Dollie as she continues to grow in her service of Our Lord.

Further, we are exceedingly blessed in that Sister Dollie and Brother Joshua Hatten were both ordained to the Diaconate on Saturday, 14 July 2012.  They are now The Reverend Sister Dollie Wilkinson, OPr, and The Reverend Brother Joshua Hatten, OPr.  Please keep our beloved Brother and Sister in your prayers and thanksgivings as they continue to walk with Our Lord.

In the Love of Christ,

Father Michael, OPr

Brother Joshua Makes His Simple Profession!

It is with great joy The Order of Preachers, Reformed announces the Simple Profession of Brother Joshua Hatten, Opr!  Brother Joshua was professed yesterday, Sunday, the 15th day of April in the year of Our Lord 2012 after many months of study and prayer as a postulant and novice.  He was also received into the Reformed Catholic Church and has begun his seminary studies so as he may continue to serve the Our God as an ordained member of the clergy.  Let us rejoice with great thanksgiving and prayer!  Thanks be to God!
